Haas has revealed their new livery ahead of the 2022 F1 season opener at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The American team was the first car to reveal their livery back in February. However, they have opted for a new one after their contract termination with title sponsor Uralkali. This was in the aftermath of the recent global crisis, which saw driver Nikita Mazepin also lose his spot on the grid.

The team also removed all branding of Uralkali, the company owned by Dmitry Mazepin (father of Nikita) on the final day of testing in Barcelona. The Haas management also decided to join with Kevin Magnussen, who returns after leaving in 2020. Magnussen will now partner with Mick Schumacher ahead of the new season.

The new pairing will have a mix of youth and experience after the two rookies failed to secure a single point in 2021. With Haas also looking for a new title sponsor, the onus will be on Team Principal Guenther Steiner to find a balance between the pair.

Will Kevin Magnussen have a successful return with Haas in 2022?

Since his departure from Formula 1, the 29-year old has continued his racing featuring in the 24 Hour Le Mans in 2021. Additionally, he was scheduled to feature in the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship with Peugeot Sport. The surprise call-up for Magnussen could be a well-thought move by Steiner and owner Gene Haas.

However, with the team lagging behind in recent seasons, they will be boosted with the new regulations in 2022. An introduction of a cost cap with major aerodynamical changes could work to their advantage. Schumacher will also look to improve from his debut season. The youngster is into his second season in Formula 1 and will aim for his first points in the sport.
