What you need to know about the Monte Carlo Circuit

Monaco is an exciting race through the city of Monte Carlo, which takes drivers through narrow roads around the iconic locations of the scenic city. The first Grand Prix was hosted here in 1950 and had William Grover-Williams in a Bugatti T35B taking the win 74 years ago.

The drivers will be racing across the 3.337 km circuit for 78 laps to cover a total of 260.286 km by the end of the Grand Prix. The track was reportedly built in 1215, when Monaco was established as a colony of Genoa, so there is over 808 years of history to the track.

The race has been a part of the calendar for the last 68 years without missing a year and it was Sir Lewis Hamilton to set the fastest lap on the circuit. Back in 2021, Lewis Hamilton clocked an astounding 1:12:909 on the Monegasque track which has 19 turns and only 1 DRS detection zone.
