An unseen fan footage has surfaced on Reddit and Twitter that captures one of the most exciting moments from the Japanese GP. The footage is from the head cam of Fernando Alonso. It features Alpine’s man and Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel in their last lap of the race.

The two were seen battling each other in the last lap at the Suzuka Circuit. The excitement rose as Vettel came in from nowhere and crossed Fernando, making his way through to the finish line first.

‘Legends’, that how fans described the two drivers on social media. Making such a move by overtaking the other in such close quarters on a turn nonetheless, is a bold move. All that, and still not touching, despite how the race began, was an overtaking masterclass indeed.

Another video that emerged on Twitter, that is a wide-frame capture of the turn. This had the audience audibly gasping as the two battled each other out.

No one saw it coming! Vettel eventually finished the race in P6 just merely 0.011 seconds ahead of Alonso.

However, the race’s first lap was ironically quite the opposite.

Guess the last lap was playing out the drama that started out in the first lap. The race started with a little friction between Alonso and Vettel. As it turns out, Vettel and Alonso had made contact and the German was furious.

Sebastian spun off the track into the gravel, only to nullify the effort he made in qualifying. An unhappy Vettel took to his radio to tell his engineer, “I got hit by Alonso, very bad.”

However, he did not let that put him down. Without wasting any time, the man got out of the gravel and came onto the track. However, after due diligence using footage from Alonso’s car, it was discovered that it was rather Vettel that drove into him whilst making a turn.
