Alfa Romeo Racing have officially unveiled their 2022 F1 challenger after running a black-white camo livery over the three-day testing in Barcelona. And, well, the first impression is that the car looks amazing with the Sauber-led outfit portraying red as the dominant color, unlike last season.

Back in 2021, it was the traditional red-white color combination that found itself etched on the C41. But, in that case, white occupied most of the spaces on the car. And, this year, Alfa Romeo have seemingly opted for a rather contrasting livery!

Also, the livery on C42 have pretty much superseded the team’s previous livery designs and a lot of fans have acknowledged it as well through social media.

How does the Alfa Romeo C42 look?

Let’s start with the front wing – The dark red color runs along the front wing and onto the halo as well before white covers the side pods with the branding of their title partners, Orlen. And again, it is the red that takes up most of the space around the back of the C42, including the rear wing.

Quite interestingly, the rear wing has the Alfa Romeo logo embedded on it along with the Italian colors. What’s more, Alfa Romeo have also managed to bring about a stunning wheel cover which, again, has a mix of red and white, consequently offering a lavish look to the C42.

Huge task ahead for the Swiss outfit

The last couple of years have been quite agonizing for Alfa Romeo as the team struggled with a lack of consistency. However, this year could well be their best shot at re-surging to the top of the mid-field pack. Of course, it does seem a bit impractical considering the dominant pace of McLaren and Ferrari. But what Alfa Romeo do have now is Valtteri Bottas, a driver who had spent five years racing for the most dominant racing team of the hybrid era.
