Mick Schumacher is the name that’s been on everyone’s lips for the past month. His formidable performance in F2 put all the F1 teams on notice that he is all set to go swimming with the sharks. Although the format may overwhelm him at first, the young German is eager to learn and the fact that he is a quick study only helps.

There has been no official declaration of Alfa Romeo signing Schumacher Jr. However, everyone around the grid has already started discussing the possibility of his arrival.

Nick Heidfeld told Sky Sports in a column that for Mick to transform into a better version of himself, he will need guidance. And who better to guide him if not the most experienced racer on the grid.

His teammate will be very important to him. Especially in the debut season. If it’s Kimi, that would be great for Mick. I used to drive with him myself.

“He’s a very honest guy. He’s not talking nonsense. This is very, very helpful, especially in the first year. He will help him get on well,” remarked the former German racer.

The requirement of proper advice under any umbrella is huge. Kimi Raikkonen is the best man to introduce Mick Schumacher to the F1 circus.

The Finn has an unthinkable amount of races under his belt along with a championship. To add a cherry to that, it would honor Kimi to be the mentor to his idol’s son.

Heidfeld certain of Mick Schumacher in F1 next year

Heidfeld is convinced that Mick Schumacher is ready to make the switch to the big leagues. He is certain that Mick has what it takes to drive a motor beast at 300km/hr.

Schumacher Jr had a Free Practice session scheduled with Alfa Romeo at Nurburgring. However, his debut behind the wheel of a Formula One car took a big hit as a result of unforgiving weather conditions.

“The most important thing: I am convinced that he really has what it takes. He has everything to keep up in F1. He is perfectly prepared,” remarked Heidfeld.

Mick Schumacher is the reason fans in Germany are celebrating again. Almost 2 decades later, the tracks will be graced by yet another Schumacher.

He may be young, but he knows how to carry his name and does not let it get the better of him, the true makings of a champion.
