Alex Albon had a year filled with mixed emotions and performances. After securing his maiden F1 podium at Mugello, he tried to improve. However, adjusting to the Red Bull car was just not his cup of tea. With questions rising about his seat next season, he had to buckle up.

Red Bull has an impressive back up in the face of Checo and Hulkenberg to replace Albon. However, they did not want to be dismissive of the Thai racer as the team knew he had potential. They gave him as many chances as they could and it was upon him to make the most of it.

The Middle Eastern triple-header came as a boon to Albon. At the time when the Albon-Checo switch was in its highest possibility, Albon delivered a splendid couple of weekends. His podium at Bahrain and P4 at Abu Dhabi made a solid case for his future at Red Bull.
