The Dutch GP is shaping up to be quite a rollercoaster ride for the fans of Lewis Hamilton. As the Briton captured victory at the Belgian GP right before the summer break started, he seemed to be in a good position to vie for a win in Zandvoort as well. However, he spilled water on all those hopes by failing to get through to the third round of Qualifying. In a shocking elimination, Lewis had to walk away with a P12 spot on the starting grid for the Dutch Grand Prix while his teammate, George Russell, got the 4th spot.
Things went from bad to worse for Hamilton as he soon received a three-place grid drop penalty which added on top of his poor result. This meant that the seven-time World Champion should have started the race from P15, further deprecating his chances to score good points and salvage his weekend. As the Hamiltonians were feeling all the blues from his early Quali exit ahead of the Dutch GP, some happy news came in just after the session was over.
The week has turned out to be disastrous for Williams as one of their recruits, Logan Sargeant, did not compete in Qualifying after his massive crash during FP3. But the other racer from the Grove outfit, Alex Albon, made a go for pole position in Q3 and came home with P8, which was one of his best race starts this year. However, an FIA investigation found there were some problems in Albon’s car floor body, and they had to disqualify the Thai-British racer.

Releasing a statement following their checks of the different cars that took part in the Quali, FIA mentioned that Alex Albon’s car failed their technical checks. Williams had brought some upgrades for their cars in the Netherlands and perhaps, those led to the technical fault. But Albon’s disqualification means that Lewis Hamilton will go up by one place and he will start in the 11th spot, just outside the points positions.
On the other hand, Albon will start his Dutch GP run from the back of the grid alongside teammate Logan Sargeant. For any racer who gets into the top 10, a disqualification might be heartbreaking. And Alex Albon was no exception. So, how did he react to the verdict from the FIA stewards?

Alex Albon had just one word to say after his Dutch GP Quali disqualification
Alex Albon was naturally quite distraught after the news of the Dutch GP quali disqualification came through. The Thai-British driver did not have many words to express his disappointment. He took it to Instagram to post a story about the Williams FW46 with the caption “Gutted“. It’s quite clear that it devastated him to see all of his hard work go to waste because of something that wasn’t really in his control.
As for the team, they clarified their stance on the issue and explained that they were equally disappointed with how things turned out. After the Dutch GP Qualifying, Williams put out a statement that said, “Unfortunately, Alex has been disqualified from Qualifying today due to his floor body being outside the regulatory volume set by the FIA. We are incredibly disappointed with this outcome and will be carrying out a thorough investigation and will provide an update soon.”
