“I never make the same mistake twice. I make it five or six times just to be sure.” That’s exactly what Lewis Hamilton must’ve told himself after embarrassing himself by making the same mistake for two years. However, now we can finally see Hamilton rectifying his mistake as a new video has surfaced on Twitter. Although fans remain suspicious of Hamilton’s try at correcting the error.
We can forgive the F1 drivers in case they make a mistake in remembering a detail or two about their team as they live such a fast-paced life. However, in Lewis Hamilton’s case, it’s not a minor detail that he forgot. And he keeps making the same mistake quite often. 2023 will be Lewis Hamilton’s 11th year with the Mercedes F1 team. In all his time with the Silver Arrows, Hamilton had a hard time remembering the full name of the team, which is Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team. The Briton’s cumbersomeness to remember the full name was first highlighted in the Netflix series Drive to Survive.

Mercedes‘ social media team has now come up with some content to save Lewis Hamilton from the battering he was getting for not being able to say his team’s name properly. In a recent video posted by the Mercedes F1 team on Twitter, the seven-time world champion is seen narrating the full name of the team without any hesitation or stoppages. The caption to the video is “Worth the wait“. The caption is apt since Hamilton made the F1 community wait for 2 years before actually saying the full name properly.
Toward the end of the video, after pronouncing the name properly, Hamilton adds, “see I can get it right sometimes” with a grin on his face. While the grin may have been there because Hamilton finally got it right or he added that sometimes by himself. Nevertheless, whatever the reason may be, fans have their take on the video.
People react to Lewis Hamilton narrating the full name correctly
People have taken to the comment section of the video to express their views on it. While a lot of people congratulated Hamilton on finally getting the name right, many believe it still took Hamilton multiple takes to say the name. Since fans believe there were multiple takes, they’ve bombarded the comment section asking Mercedes to post the bloopers as well. Here’s how the people reacted on Twitter:
What would it take for you to release the bloopers

Many fans made some hidden jokes while reflecting on the number of takes that Hamilton would’ve taken. One mentioned Hamilton took 44 takes referring to the Brit’s racing number while others suggested the fact that he tried 7(8*) times, taking a jab at Hamilton being robbed of the 8th world title.
Got it👌🏽 on attempt #44 me think 🤪

Some also suggested that there was a screen behind the camera which had the name on it so that Hamilton could read it out without forgetting.

Whatever the case may be. Even if Hamilton took multiple takes, we cannot blame him, as the name is actually quite long to remember for anyone. As much so, that also Toto Wolff forgets what the full name is sometimes.
