Suzuka is often regarded as a driver’s track. The circuit is one of the most technical tracks on the Formula 1 calendar and drivers love it. That’s why when the chequered flag was waved early at the Japanese Grand Prix today, Lewis Hamilton was the most disappointed man.

Rain interrupted running at the Japanese Grand Prix today. However, we were lucky to see a race after all. However, Lewis Hamilton came onto the team radio after the chequered flag was waved to show his disappointment at it all.

Hamilton was heard on the team radio saying, “What’s that? We’ve taken the flag?”

When he realized that the race was, in fact, over, his disappointment was clearly visible. He went on to remark, “Ah sh*t… okay!”.

This isn’t the only time we’ve realized just how much the Brit loves Suzuka. Before the Japanese Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton both showered heaps of praise on the track and explained why they love to drive here so much.

If we were to ask all the Formula 1 drivers of the past and the present about their favorite tracks, Suzuka would be up there. However, two World Champions of the sport are definitely the biggest fans of this track.

Talking about the track, Hamilton said, “It’s an amazing circuit, all the drivers love this circuit, because it’s one of the most old-school designs.”

Vettel is also a self-professed fan of the track. “Since I’ve known the track and seen it on TV, it’s one that hasn’t changed. It’s a very fast track, a lot of fast corners. I think sector one is just the best part of track that I can imagine.”
