Nowadays, we come across a lot of instances of drivers mingling with each other in this cut-throat business of Formula 1. We even witnessed all drivers catching up for a Sebastian Vettel farewell dinner. This is just one of many instances of wholesome moments between the drivers. One common feature on the grid is Daniel Ricciardo shouting Pierre Gasly’s name in his unique manner.

The good-hearted Australian is the comedian of the gird. His contagious smile and constant banter with the drivers on the grid is what makes him such a likable personality. One constant in Ricciardo’s arsenal of inside jokes with the drivers on the grid is announcing Pierre Gasly.
We have seen on multiple occasions and during interviews Ricciardo shouting “Piiiierreee Gassssly” whenever he spots the Frenchman. This is a common theme between the two for quite some time now.
However, probably for the first time, we have witnessed the outgoing AlphaTauri man return the favor. Gasly, while walking on the Yas Marina Circuit, spotted the McLaren man. As soon as he spotted Ricciardo, Gasly announced, “Danieeeel Ricciardooo”. The Australian isn’t one to back out and instantly announced his name with a chuckle. Gasly ended the interaction with “love you” and a heart gesture with his hands.

Some fans are also reminiscing on the fact Ricciardo will not be able to continue this banter with Gasly. Moreover, the Australian has the same dynamic with Nico Hulkenberg, who will re-join the grid in 2023. We won’t be hearing the Gasly and Hulkenberg chants in the next season.
