A red threat alert has been issued in the constantly flooding Imola. While many were hopeful about the storm and rain making a U-turn, alas, that hasn’t happened. The tragedy has shaken the F1 world, which had hoped for a thrilling race as several lives have been lost and hundreds seem to be in danger. While our hearts go out to the victims, Carlos Sainz has joined the bandwagon of people extending help.
Do you know what is better than racing in the iconic Ferrari reds? It is racing in the Ferrari Reds in front of the Tifosi. The greatest fan base in Formula 1 is that of the Scarlet team, and winning in front of them is an electrifying experience. While Italy has multiple races giving an opportunity to the Ferrari drivers, the satisfaction of creating wonders in Imola has been taken away from Carlos Sainz. However, even amidst this, the man has taken a “safety first” approach.
He took to his Instagram to post a video extending his support. He said, “It’s still raining here in Emilia Romagna. I just want to say a couple of things. These are difficult times, obviously, and the Imola Grand Prix has been canceled. It has been two days dominated by rain in the area and the cancellation is a major blow, but the most important thing is always being able to help the people who have been evacuated and who are suffering the consequences of this extreme weather.”

“I really wanted to race in front of all the ‘Tifosi’ this weekend, but the priority is always safety and, after all, there are a lot of F1 races. I hope they are well. I want to send a hug to all these people and ask that, if we can help, as I will, I would appreciate it as will all the people in this area. A hug! See you!”
Other drivers weren’t far behind. Amongst the many who spoke up was Lando Norris.

Lando Norris came very close to a Grand Prix win in Sochi, but fate had something else in its design. However, if we have to talk about his most successful outing on a single track, it has to be Imola, where he has scored 2 of his 5 career podiums.
While he wasn’t very hopeful for a podium this time around, he nevertheless wanted to go back to his favorite track. But keeping his desires aside, he sent a concerned message. He wrote on Instagram, “I love racing, but the safety of everyone else is more important. Sorry to all the fans, we’ll be back Imola, stay safe “
