Brazil for a very long time served at the last or the penultimate GP. The GP in Sao Paulo never disappointed and provided a cracking end to many seasons. For example, in 2012 when Sebastian Vettel clawed his way back to win the championship, and in 2021 when Lewis Hamilton started the Sprint in P20 and won the main race to keep the title hopes alive. An F1 Boss has now suggested that Las Vegas will also offer the same excitement and will be the event of the year as F1 makes a $240,000,000 investment. What did the F1 Boss say?

Ever since Liberty Media took over, F1 has become as much about entertainment as it is about racing. Wider coverage, an attempt to introduce closer racing to make the spectacle better, and the Netflix Docuseries, all in an attempt to increase the popularity of the sports. Las Vegas GP is the latest of these additions to increase its reach and popularity. F1 has already invested $240,000,000 in the project to build the pit and paddock for the Las Vegas race.

With the hype around the Las Vegas GP toward the end of the season, Stefano Domenicali opens up about the F1 race going to be held in the sin city. The F1 CEO during the Beyond the Grid podcast advised that Las Vegas GP is where everyone will want to come. He explains how it’ll be iconic, the start of the grid, the neon-soaked strip where there is more light in the night than in the day. All of this will help F1 to be promoted to greater heights.

Talking about the expectations and demand, Stefano Domenicali said, “It’s a place where there is a lot of expectations, a lot of demand. And we need to make sure that the group of people that are working with us, that has an incredible responsibility to prepare an incredible event, will be seen as the event of the year because there is a lot of expectation.”

Do you think Las Vegas will be seen as the event of the year? Only time will tell if Las Vegas lives up to the hype around it. Nevertheless, let’s find out more about the investment made to build the pit and paddock.

F1 spent $240,000,000 on the construction of Las Vegas pits and paddock

Las Vegas came with its own set of problems. Since it’s a street race and in the heart of Sin City, the pits and paddock setup were going to be an issue. However, F1 decided to solve this problem by buying land adjacent to the track for a whopping $240,000,000. A permanent paddock and pit will be built on the said land.
