Lando Norris' injury at Garrix's party—reckless fun or just bad luck?

Seeing your friend get an F1 win might be special, but what if he wins a race in your own home country? That feeling hit Martin Garrix as he flew to the Netherlands just to be there in support of his travel buddy Lando Norris. And as the McLaren racer pulled off an impressive feat by defeating World Champion Max Verstappen and winning the Dutch GP by a margin of 22.9s, the iconic DJ seemed over the moon! The 28-year-old Billboard chart-topping star is often seen accompanying Lando to parties all around the globe and as his friend has won his second F1 race now, another giant bash might be on the cards for them.

Lando Norris’ debut Formula 1 victory came earlier this year at the Miami GP. And right before that race, Lando sported a bandage around his nose because he had injured it somehow. Later, reports revealed that the 24-year-old sustained a nose injury while he was out partying with Martin Garrix.

So, what happened is—Lando and Martin met with each other, once the papaya army racer finished his duties at the Chinese GP. The two of them celebrated Koningsdag (King’s Day) in Amsterdam together and somehow Lando sustained a freak injury (more on this later). Thus, when one of the paparazzi took his picture, he had a mummy-esque bandage wrapped around his nose!

This time around, Lando Norris seemed fit as a fiddle, with no injuries holding him back, as he took away the pole position on Saturday in Zandvoort. Then, it only seemed like a piece of cake for the Belgian-British talent as he soared to victory in Martin Garrix’s home country by maintaining a giant gap to Max Verstappen. Happy with how his friend fared at the Dutch GP, Garrix shared a clip of the racer celebrating while standing on top of his car with the caption “LETS GOOOOOOO!” on his Instagram stories.

And Martin Garrix was also giving an interview to the media from his spot by the side of the Zandvoort track when Lando Norris jumped on him from behind and hugged him.

Thus, Lando and Martin looked absolutely on cloud nine with the former’s results at the Dutch GP. This might mean that they will hit yet another party together soon—but what had happened at the party when they went to Amsterdam, where Lando injured his nose?

Martin Garrix revealed the backstory to Lando Norris’ nose injury

After the Chinese GP, fans saw Lando Norris and Max Verstappen were out partying in Amsterdam and the next thing they knew, Lando was sporting a bandage on his face with flecks of blood sticking to it! However, Martin Garrix believes the rumors around the incident became way bigger than what had happened.

Thus, he set the record straight by saying, “Everyone made it crazier than it was. There was a glass that was broken on the boat and we were partying all the time and he took a sip from the glass, and the upper part gave him a small cut on his nose.”

Now, Lando is one of the biggest Championship rivals in the current F1 season for Max Verstappen. With the gap between him and the Dutchman being down to just 70 points, missing out on any one of the Grand Prix because of a nose injury would cost Lando dearly.

Thus, even if he and his DJ friend decide to hit the clubs to celebrate Lando Norris’ amazing win at the Dutch GP, they have to make sure the McLaren star does not walk away with any injuries on his body!

Well, Martin Garrix seems to have become Lando’s best travel and party buddy. Meanwhile, Norris’ ex-teammate Carlos Sainz also mentioned recently that the 23-year-old is one of his closest friends in F1. With such great friendships, do you think Lando has enough support backing him as he goes for a World Championship fight against Max Verstappen?
