Sebastian Vettel’s retirement and Fernando Alonso‘s joining Aston Martin were two of the biggest buzzes of the last season. Alonso’s decision was questioned, and everyone laughed. But seeing the opening race in Bahrain and the subsequent rounds, it seems like the Spaniard had the last laugh. The bet and faith placed in him by Aston Martin’s boss, Lawrence Stroll, worked out and worked miracles for the brand in general away from F1 as he continues to make huge sums of money.
The success of Aston Martin, led by Fernando Alonso’s four podiums in the first five races, has first translated into increased sales. $3.6 billion worth Lawrence Stroll recently revealed that the company has sold about 300–400 of its Vantage F1 edition car, which is estimated to have brought in a revenue of about $80 million for the supercar company. But now, the company is launching a new car based on its success in Formula 1.
