After Partying With Shakira Till 6 AM, Lewis Hamilton Outlines the Importance of ‘Sleeping Well’ as He Plots His Big Comeback

“For two people who say there isn’t anything romantic between them, they seemed very friendly.” Lewis Hamilton and Shakira have been the talk of the town lately, with their dating rumors being talked about almost as much as Daniel Ricciardo’s return to the F1 grid. But as much as Ricciardo’s return has taken the F1 community by storm, Hamilton and Shakira’s night out after the British GP, where the two seemed “very friendly,” has had the same effect. And fans can’t help but wonder if their “relationship” will ever see the light of day.

The British GP was the third race weekend the Colombian popstar attended this season after Miami and Barcelona. And following all three races, Lewis and Shakira headed out to party—the one after Silverstone being particularly hardcore. The pair and a few of Lewis’ friends headed to the Tape London Club, where, as reported by The Sun, “[Shakira] appeared to be having a great time and was up dancing close to the table where she had been sitting with Lewis. She called it a night around 3.30 am…Lewis was more hardcore and stayed out clubbing until 6 am.”

Ironically, four days after partying till 6 am, Hamilton took to Instagram to express how vital recovery, sleeping, and staying fit is for a Formula 1 driver. He posted pictures of him working out and captioned, “In my sport, every kilo matters. Even being a little off impacts lap times and race pace. It’s crucial to eat well, sleep well, and put in work at the gym. If you’re ever having a tough time, remember that we’re in this together. It’s never easy, but always worth it 💪🏾🥬”

The partying-till-6 am was most likely a one-off occurrence, a breather before he got back to working on himself. The seven-time world champion hasn’t had the best of seasons, but he and Mercedes are working to get better, to improve. And after his result in Silverstone, a comeback might be in the cards for him and the Brackley outfit. But there’s a possibility that an external factor could’ve helped him achieve the result he did at his home race.

Could Shakira be Lewis Hamilton’s lucky charm?

Every time Shakira has attended a race weekend this season, Lewis Hamilton has squeezed out a good result. At the Miami GP, he finished sixth (which was pretty good compared to where Mercedes started this year). When Shakira was in the Mercedes garage at the Spanish GP, he finished second, and Mercedes got a double podium. The Shakira Effect didn’t seem to be working at the British GP, though. Hamilton started in P7 but dropped to P9 after the first few corners.

But luck favored him, or maybe it was Shakira’s presence, because, after the Safety Car, he was in third place and stuck there till the end of the race. In the process, he added another podium to his record-extending 14th podium finish at the British GP.
