Formula 1 is currently witnessing an evolution of dominance, which Max Verstappen has propelled to new levels. The rivals haven’t really accepted this truth, and now MLlaren team CEO Zak Brown has come forth with an absurd request to end the hegemony. Similar to the manner in which Lewis Hamilton tried to do so with hypocrisy to curb the double champion’s hegemony.
In the first 12 races, Max Verstappen has won 10, with 8 of those victories coming in a row. It is important to pay close attention to this statistic since Verstappen has advanced to the point where he needs just two more races to shatter another illustrious record that is named to Sebastian Vettel: the most consecutive victories in a season. Max Verstappen will probably continue to win every race this season. His hegemony started after crushing Lewis Hamilton and the company in 2021. And this exact fact has irked Lewis Hamilton where he displayed his hypocrisy.
Given that Verstappen and his team are currently on the same path as Hamilton and Mercedes were during the hybrid era, the 38-year-old has made several suggestions to the FIA to end this pattern of dominance. However, McLaren, who has suffered the biggest losses at the hands of Red Bull has chosen to proceed in the same manner as Hamilton.

According to McLaren CEO Zak Brown, his team has displaced its competitors in the same place with significant modifications similar to those made by Mercedes and Aston Martin at the beginning of the season. He then made an absurd request, citing ESPN F1. “If you take Max out of it and take everyone who’s finished second this year and give them a win, it would be a pretty competitive, exciting championship.”
In a nutshell, Brown called attention to the grid behind Max Verstappen since the fight behind him involved changes to the competition order. “We’ve had a second. Aston’s had a second, Ferrari’s had a second, Mercedes has had a second, Sergio’s had a second. You would have five teams that would have won a race this year. As soon as we all catch up to Red Bull I think that’s going to be the state of play for Formula 1.”
The greatest levels of motorsport have seen someone nail the track numerous times. Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, and Lewis Hamilton, who redefined supremacy previously, dominated the circuit. So what is the one factor that is gradually allowing Max Verstappen to supplant Lewis Hamilton as the most dominant driver?
What distinguishes Max Verstappen’s dominant phase from Lewis Hamilton’s?
Lewis Hamilton is the top driver, according to statistics, having won 103 Grand Prix races and seven world championships. The man, who had amassed everything the sport has to offer, remained the most dominant driver until 2021. However, after that, Hamilton isn’t even close to being a title contender and hasn’t even claimed a victory since the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. To be fair, the Mercedes champion hasn’t yet received a competitive vehicle.

Although the British driver has had some stunning cars in the past to demonstrate his dominance, according to a former F1 champion, Hamilton has never been as deadly as the Dutchman. Jacques Villeneuve, a former F1 world champion, provided his opinion on two contemporary giants, as reported by La Gazzetta Dello Sport and cited by Mirror. He claims, “He [Hamilton] goes very up and down in performance, it depends on the weekends. But he’s always been like that, every season, even when he was winning. He’s never had a perfect year like Verstappen.”
Later, while revealing the distinguishing factor, the Canadian said, “[Verstappen] always has an extraordinary energy, he never gives up. And he makes a difference. Verstappen has always been like that, for years. He’s at his best for the whole season.”
