“I see you doing gymnastics” – said Lando Norris. And well, his foreseeing hasn’t been wrong. After all, Oscar Piastri‘s alleged ‘cameo’ at the Paris Olympics is causing shockwaves. As much as fans would’ve loved the McLaren driver doing cartwheels and vaults, unfortunately, that won’t be happening. Not now, not ever! However, Piastri’s gymnast doppelganger has got the F1 fans excited.
The most interesting part of the story is how unrecognizable Oscar Piastri and Dutch gymnast Frank Rijken are. Especially Rijken’s side profile could easily confuse any F1 fan into believing he is Oscar. But, now, Piastri needs to come in to convince the audience that he isn’t contesting at the Olympics! This original and look-alike tale has taken such a hilarious turn that it will be remembered for quite some time.
Oscar Piastri had to go down to his X handle to comment on one of the posts, featuring Frank Rijken. The Aussie wrote: “Can confirm I am not competing at the Olympics.” Oh, poor fella! Fans aren’t buying this. Someone said, “It’s okay osc you don’t have to lie” while another fan commented: “never seen u in the same room.” Looks like, Piastri needs to give stronger evidence to prove himself!

Can confirm I am not competing at the Olympics
— Oscar Piastri (@OscarPiastri) August 1, 2024
However, it remains unclear if fans would be ready to believe that the 23-year-old ‘Mini GOAT’ of F1 isn’t truly a gymnast. At the time, Rijken could become Piastri’s ‘Dutch connection’ to make Zandvoort his home race. But then, maybe, he’d have to let go of the ‘Leclerc’ name! Nonetheless, this whole ‘cameo’ drama is not just funny but also endearing as fans are also actively participating.

Now all the drivers, team bosses, and staff are taking the much-needed respite. Oscar Piastri is no exception. However, he hasn’t revealed his holiday destination. Assuming, he hasn’t been home in a while, the Aussie could be spending his break with his family in Melbourne.

Meanwhile, Nicole Piastri is relieved that the summer break is finally here. Following her son’s brilliant P2 in Spa-Francorchamps, Mama Piastri once again took to X. She shared a picture of her dog, Baz, and wrote: “Thank goodness for the summer break, the excitement was starting to get to Baz.” The family dog dozed off while Piastri finished second in the race! Oscar Piastri currently sits 4th on the driver’s standings trailing behind Charles Leclerc. And the way the Aussie is catching up, the top 3 aren’t too far.

Within the next few days while the Paris Olympics will come to an end, Oscar Piastri’s ‘clone’ will find himself at the center of attraction, having represented his country at the highest level. At the same time, Piastri would be returning to the McLaren garage to prepare for the second phase of F1. The world of sports never settles, as one series ends, another one begins or continues.
