It has been a turbulent couple of seasons for Lewis Hamilton, at Mercedes. Ever since the forgetful and controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi GP, Hamilton has struggled to reestablish a strong foothold in F1. And the team has put a halt to his F1 future by delaying contract talks. Moreover, Hamilton’s latest demand of $25 million a year for an ambassador role was rejected too. Despite this happening, the Briton has recently given a heart-touching homage to the Brackley outfit, saying that his place in Mercedes will be cemented.
After the Austrian GP, the turbulence seems to have increased in the Mercedes garage. Toto Wolff and Hamilton have disagreed with some of each other’s statements in the media. As a result of this, the question that pops up naturally is: Will the contract renewal be affected? While speculations around the same increase and uncertainty loom, the 7-time champion has given a beautiful tribute to Mercedes.

In BBC’s latest episode of the F1: Chequered Flag podcast, Hamilton spoke with English broadcaster Jennie Gow. They discussed everything from his desire to win an eighth championship to his Hollywood movie. One part that stood out was when Hamilton spoke very respectfully and emotionally about his relationship with Mercedes.
He said, “It’s really cool to be a part of this brand. I mean they signed me when I was 13. There’s plenty of my cars now as a part of their evolution, of their history and long after I’m gone, I’ll still be a part of Mercedes, so that’s cool.”
It is beautiful to see how he is finding the silver linings in everything. Despite many things might not going right at Mercedes, Hamilton has complete trust in the team.

And Hamilton has proven time and again that he is tough.
His relationship with Mercedes is an old one and full of depth. So when he was once again asked about his contract in the media, he put an end to it by lauding Mercedes.
