Alex Albon and Muni “Lily” He’s love story is one for the ages. They got acquainted over Instagram after Lily started watching Netflix’s Drive To Survive in 2019. She admitted to having developed an interest in Albon, given that he was the only Asian racer on the grid back then. They started talking, hanging out, and are now in a relationship. And four years on, they keep adding pages to it. 

Lily—a Chinese professional golfer on the LPGA Tour—is often seen around the paddock, walking with her beau, Alex Albon. But not during the Monaco GP weekend. Part of the reason she couldn’t attend the race was that she had golf commitments of her own. But another major reason was her being a Swiftie and not passing up a chance to attend one of Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” concerts in New York. To be fair, who would pass up on that opportunity? Albon had something to say about it, though.

Alex Albon reveals his true feelings about Lily ditching him

It’s weird not seeing Lily with Alex in the paddock. Even though she is a professional golfer and has her own events to play at and attend, she makes it a point to be there for almost all of Alex’s races. But as important as the Monaco GP is to an F1 driver, getting the chance to attend a Taylor Swift concert—and the Eras tour at that—is just as important to a Swiftie.

When asked how he felt about Lily attending a Taylor Swift concert without him, he said, “I’d do the same. Maybe not for a Taylor Swift concert, but yeah.” While she doesn’t necessarily feel guilty about attending the concert, this is all the reassurance Lily will need to know that had Alex Albon been in her shoes, he would skip attending one of her golf events to attend a concert.

While Albon did say he wouldn’t attend a Taylor Swift concert, it’s only a matter of time before Lily (hopefully) converts him into a Swiftie. Because every person has the ability to become a Swiftie. Even Fernando Alonso.

Taylor Swift’s name is no stranger in the F1 paddock. With rumors—that have died down since—about a possible relationship between 2-time world champion Fernando Alonso and the 12-time Grammy winner, F1 fans all around the world couldn’t wait for her next album. Because if this was true, [F1] fans speculated it would be one of her best ones yet. Ain’t it funny how rumors fly? While people really did start believing the rumors, Daniel Ricciardo “called BS on that from the start.” 

When the rumors were at an all-time high, especially during the Azerbaijan GP, Sky Sports commentator David Croft took the liberty to not-so-subtly mention Taylor Swift songs while talking about Alonso on track. He mentioned tracks like “Blank Space,” “Getaway Car,” and “Style,” and F1 fans who are also Swifties had a blast listening to Crofty.
