Fans are known for their passionate support and sometimes, their equally passionate demands. Recently, a clamor arose from the fanbase for a “race ban” against Max Verstappen, the Dutch racing sensation. The reason? A $150,000 mishap humorously referred to by Verstappen as an “inchident”.

The incident in question occurred during the Q1 of the British Grand Prix. He described the conditions as “very weird”, with turns 15 and 16 being particularly damp and difficult to navigate. Despite the challenging conditions, Verstappen was determined to get his laps in, knowing the potential of his car.

The “inchident” occurred when Verstappen, in his own words, “destroyed” his front wing in the pits. The mishap was a result of under-steering out of the box due to excessive rear grip. This necessitated a front-wing replacement, pushing him to the back for the final run. Despite the setback, Verstappen found the situation “quite exciting.” This incident, however, came with a hefty price tag of $150,000, leading to an uproar among fans.

Verstappen explained, “I think in general, yeah, I was just trying to get the laps in. Of course, we knew that we had a quick car, so you don’t risk it all the way to get through. But still that final lap, of course, I had my little inchident in the pits where I destroyed my front wing.”
