When Netflix’s Drive to Survive entered the scene, Formula 1 found a huge influx of new fans getting into the sport. The show is running on its 6th season and we are still only through one-third of the F1 season. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt has been working closely with Lewis Hamilton on the Untitled Apple F1 movie, where the team APX takes on F1 teams.

All this involvement of entertainment media is making the sport explode with millions of new fans and there are more to come. However, that will not be all that we see from Brad Pitt in the world of motor-movies. His latest project will bring in Channing Tatum for his latest docuseries and this time it’s not about F1 cars, but some 2-wheeling madness.

Having two names like Brad Pit and Channing Tatum should be enough to get anyone’s interest, but the star of the show is James Gay-Rees, the man behind Drive to Survive, and the legendary movie Senna. The main focus of ‘The Greatest Race on Earth’ docuseries will be the Isle of Man TT races. Although they have stated that the series will be out in 2025, there is no release date or information as to where it will be streamed.

Box To Box Films is said to be producing the series along with Channing Tatum’s production company Free Association. Adding to the list of people backing the project is Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, who have worked on the motorcycle documentary ‘Hitting the Apex.’

The project is already underway as the filming started before the first practice session of the 2024 TT. With the aim of covering the 2024 event, the series will provide highlights from various personalities involved in the Isle of Man TT.

Here is what the production team of the docuseries has to say

Explaining his take on the upcoming series, James Gay-Rees stated, “It’s a great privilege to be working with these partners on this extremely unique project. The Isle of Man TT is one of the most visceral, exhilarating and unusual events in the motorsport diary. We can’t wait to bring this incredible world to new audiences.”

Tatum added, “We’re deeply honoured to be part of the creative dream team telling the story of this legendary event, and can’t wait to finally share this mythical sport we love with audiences all across the globe.”

As we see, Motorsports has made its way into the heart of Hollywood where it’s more about flashy cars and story plots. There are many documentaries and docuseries that record real events of people achieving amazing heights and this mode of documenting history is what the team plans on showing the world.
