Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton had a red-hot rivalry last season, which went all the way up until the last lap of the year. However, this season has been quite contrasting with Hamilton struggling massively. This has been pretty enjoyable for Max’s father and former F1 driver, Jos Verstappen.

The former F1 driver also had a lot to say about the matter as well and expressed his feelings freely.
Max Verstappen laps Lewis Hamilton at Imola
This was a stellar weekend for Verstappen, who collected both the sprint race win and the main race win. However, the weekend was equally dismal for Hamilton who finished outside the points in both the races. To make matters worse, he even got lapped by last season’s title rival Max Verstappen during the main race at Imola.
This was a delightful sight for Max’s father, Jos, who had plenty to say about the incident. He said, “To be honest, I also thought it was nice to see that he could put Hamilton on a lap, after everything that happened last year,” referring to the battles of last year.
Jos went on to add, “Hamilton had a really hard time, while his teammate George Russell seemed more balanced. It doesn’t happen quickly that you get the chance to drive a Mercedes one lap behind,” to sprinkle salt onto Hamilton’s wounds.
