Celebrities and Formula 1 has quickly become an instant recipe for drama! Whether it’s Neymar Jr. and 7x champion, Lewis Hamilton or, Claire Holt, of the ‘Vampire Diaries‘ fame, and Dutch lion, Max Verstappen. Recently, the Australian actress caught a lot of flak online for her comments on the 2x champion. But rather than lying low, the 35-year-old has come out swinging!

Taking to her Instagram and replying to fan questions, Holt infamously quipped, “I love it, but I’m tired of Max [Verstappen] winning all the time. Also, I think he’s a grouchy baby, and I’d like Checo [Perez] to kick his a**,” when asked if she still follows the sport. Granted, Verstappen’s dominance may have dimmed the allure of F1 a tad bit, however, Verstappen fans were having none of the name-calling.

If you think Verstappen’s a fiery character, then Holt would surely make him proud. Unfettered by all the backlash she’s been receiving, Holt again took to her Instagram account to troll her haters.

She posted a video of her sitting in Williams‘ FW45, 2023 car. The video caption read, “me when all the grouchy babies of F1 tell me to get back to the kitchen.”That wasn’t it, though! After the ‘grouchy baby‘ reference, the mother of two took a direct dig at the Verstappen fans targeting her with sexist jokes and comments.

She captioned the post, “imagine trolling a middle aged mum cause she doesn’t like your celebrity crush lololol.”

Holt is clearly facing the heat from Max Verstappen’s fandom. But the 2x champion has himself been on the other spectrum of things. Calling him a polarizing figure would be a massive understatement. Hence, his own words on the matter of social media toxicity beckon another read on this occasion.

Back in 2022, Verstappen was quoted by Motorsport.com as saying, “That is the problem when you leave everything open on social media, everyone can say whatever they want. I think hate needs to be addressed a lot more and better. These companies put a little bit of focus on it, but it’s still not enough.”
