Oscar Piastri fell sick last weekend during the Azerbaijan GP. The Australian mentioned how he suffered from stomach upset all weekend long and only had 4 pieces of toast. Piastri supposedly lost over 4Kgs of weight over the weekend. He explained how he wasn’t at 100% throughout the weekend and that it was only the adrenaline rush from racing that made him feel energetic and kept him going.

After arriving in Miami for the Grand Prix this weekend, Oscar Piastri suggested that in terms of fitness, he is back where he should be and is fit to race this weekend. The Australian explained how he felt weak when the adrenaline dropped off after the race. He doesn’t know how much he weighs, but has surely upped his appetite and is eating well now. His good appetite suggests he is recovering well as Piastri suggests that he is “good to go.”

According to Speedcafe.com, Oscar Piastri said, “But Sunday, I was okay and feeling pretty good. Once the adrenaline dropped off after the race I wasn’t feeling great again. I’m pretty much back how I should be in terms of fitness and just feeling. I don’t know how much I weigh yet, we’ll keep an eye on that, but I’ve managed to get food in the last few days, which is good – certainly no shortage of it!” “I should be good to go.”

Arriving for the Miami GP, Piastri suggested how he has never raced at the Miami GP circuit and that it’ll be a new experience.

Albert Park was the first track this season where Oscar Piastri had never raced before despite him being an Australian. This weekend’s Miami GP circuit would be the second one. Piastri explained how Miami is different from Australia even though both of them are street circuits. At Miami, the barriers are very close up to the track as compared to Australia. Nevertheless, the Australian has tried the track in the simulator and feels ready to take it this weekend.
