McLaren said goodbye to the ancient wind tunnel that it has been using for many years and welcome the new state-of-the-art independently owned wind tunnel. And if we’ve learned anything for Silverstone, it’s that the McLaren is now arguably the second-fastest car. Charles Leclerc and Co. have also tightened their seat belt as they get ready to bring the fight to Max Verstappen after bidding goodbye to the age-old demon. Who/what was this demon?

Charles Leclerc and Ferrari don’t seem to be getting any closer to Red Bull. The race pace in Canada was good, but Ferrari’s tire call in qualifying ended up costing Leclerc what could’ve possibly been a podium had he started toward the front. On the brighter side, Leclerc made it to the podium in Austria, but only for a second time. However, the following race at Silverstone was again a disaster as the tire strategy was outrageous as the Monegasque finished P9.

This was only the last three races. The story has been the same since the start of the season. The drivers have called the SF-23 unpredictable, and the car suffered tire degradation as well. However, Ferrari Test Driver Marc Gene suggests that Ferrari has gotten rid of all the problems, including the age-old tire degradation problem, and that there aren’t any weak points about the car.

According to Soymotor.com Marc Gene said, “I think we no longer have any problems, we are no longer concerned about the issue of degradation. In Canada, we did well, in Austria as well and in Silverstone, the degradation was not a problem. I think Hungary should be a good track for us, so I am happy with the progress we have made in Canada. Now let’s go to the races with a different mentality, we don’t have any real weak points in our car.”

The car did show exceptional pace in Canada and after the upgrades were brought to Austria; the car was challenging for podiums. However, Ferrari isn’t about being on the podium, but about winning races and championships. Marc Gene suggests Ferrari go into the next races with an improved mentality. Will Ferrari be able to catch the unstoppable Max Verstappen?

With issues resolved, Ferrari looks forward to making the most out of a weekend

Ferrari has always been super quick in the qualifying session. It was the races where the car lacked. However, the raw pace in qualifying and not being able to transfer that pace into the race meant that was mostly a setup issue. Marc Gene suggests that Ferrari is over the tire and setup issues now and go to Hungary with full confidence to extract the most out of the car without worrying about anything.

According to SoyMotor.com, Marc Gene said, “We are not going to Hungary to reconfirm anything, because the issue of ‘set-up’ and degradation have been solved. Now we have to do good races and make podiums when we can.”
