Do you recall the 2023 Canadian GP where Ferrari had a roller coaster of a weekend? The Scuderia messed the strategy up during the qualifying whereas displayed a masterclass on Sunday. Well, looks like Austria is going to be the opposite of that. As the Maranello-based team destroys Carlos Sainz’s race, fans take to social media to obliterate the Scuderia. Let’s see how things panned out.
After what was a disastrous qualifying in Canada, Ferrari finally stitched everything together and qualified P2 and P3 for the Main Race in Austria. Both Ferrari’s got off the line well, but it was Max Verstappen leading the race. Charles Leclerc in P2 was losing almost a second to the Dutchman on every lap, with Carlos Sainz in P3 pleading with the team to let him through. The Spaniard was visibly quicker than Leclerc, yet there was no team order.
Why didn’t Ferrari bring SAI in a lap earlker???
They were past the pit entry when the VSC was actually called but should have pre-empted that as Carlos was clearly bottled up….

Just a couple of laps later, Nico Hulkenberg retired with a power unit failure. There were chances of a Virtual safety car. By the time Stewards called it, Sainz was very marginal between coming in or staying out. Ferrari kept both cars out and double stacked on the next lap, with VSC still on the clock. However, Leclerc had a slow stop messing Sainz up, who came out behind the Hamilton-Norris-Perez fight-losing positions.
Rightfully, Carlos Sainz was frustrated with his team and radioed, “Guys come on! Why we not stay out?” The Spaniard was right in calling that as we’ve now seen Max Verstappen pit later and still managed to regain the places lost by not pitting under VSC. Fans are furious at Ferrari for messing up the strategy once again. Let’s see what they have to say.

i don’t understand the double stack, pitting Charles okay, pitting Carlos not okay, you let Carlos push and maintain a certain gap to Max, and you put Charles to cover Lewis and Lando

The destroyed Carlos race for not letting him pass Leclerc before
