A platform is of no use if you don’t utilize it and Lewis Hamilton understands that. The Briton always uses the massive platform he has through F1 as an opportunity to bring to attention the causes that need attention.
Hamilton not only speaks about them, but he acts as well. When the Mercedes man hangs up his helmet, apart from his achievements within the sport, his activism will be part of his legacy. Although Hamilton is still putting in the hours to work on his legacy.

Discussing the same, the Mercedes man sat with Kathrine Eschmann from UBS to talk about his platform and contribution.
He said, “I think when I was younger, I wanted to be a Formula One driver. I wanted to be recognized one day as the best Formula One driver. But that’s kind of very self-serving.”
“When I think about my legacy, I think one part of it is looking at my industry, which currently has 1 out of 40,000 jobs in the UK, only 1% from black backgrounds.”If I can be a part of a shift in that to being more in 10, 20 years’ time, that would be nice. But I wanna do much, much more with the time that I have here.”
“It’s just about maximizing the time you have here.”
“When I was young, I used to think If I could impact one person, that would be enough. But I realize I have this platform that I could go much further than that. So let’s take it as far as we can,” he concluded.
