It is difficult to deal with not having another race after three consecutive race weekends, isn’t it? Well, that’s just the nature of F1, it always leaves you wanting more. Unfortunately, the wait for F1 to resume seems too long.
The British Grand Prix will mark the start of the next set of triple-headers. The Silverstone track will play host to not one, but two Grands Prix this year.
However, coming back to the first one, officially named the British Grand Prix, let’s have a punt at some predictions for the race, shall we?

It could be an all too familiar Mercedes 1-2, but who’ll join them on the podium for the 2020 F1 British GP?
Perhaps it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Mercedes have been the most dominant team at Silverstone for the last 5-years. The only team to disrupt a Mercedes 1-2 during this period of time was Ferrari in 2018, where Sebastian Vettel finished first and Kimi Raikkonen came home in P3.
But let’s face it, we all know that the possibility of this happening in 2020 is close to zilch.
It is also a track where Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has a pretty disappointing record. The Dutchman has only finished on the podium once at Silverstone, during his career thus far.
So keeping those facts in mind, expect yet another Mercedes 1-2, with Lewis Hamilton winning the race and teammate Valtteri Bottas crossing the checkered flag at P2.
Considering there are 18 corners at Silverstone, the closest comparison this season can be made with the Hungaroring, especially when it comes to predictions.

Therefore, don’t be too surprised if you see a Racing Point come in at P3. After all, the Mercedes W11 did dominate at the track last year. Additionally, Lance Stroll finished P4 in Hungary bolstering his resolve for more triumph.
Hence, a third career podium is very likely.
The battle for P5 and P6 (possibly P4) will take place between Red Bull, Ferrari, and McLaren. Expect Verstappen to finish P5 while Lando Norris comes home in P6.

Alex Albon should pip the Ferrari drivers to finish in P7 while the remaining three points-earning spots should go to Sainz, Vettel, and Leclerc.
