The home of British Motor Racing had to suspend the online sale of tickets for next year’s British Grand Prix. Moreover, the controversial pricing left some of the fans speechless with many labeling the prices as obscure.
The Towcester-based venue is pursuing a ‘dynamic pricing’ system where the prices of tickets increase as the demand for the same goes up. However, they had to suspend the sale of tickets as their ticketing provider, Secutix, became overwhelmed. Alongside this, the prices of the tickets were also ‘frozen’.
In a statement released by Silverstone, it notified people that it had suspended the ticket sale after many people experienced intermittent issues in securing their tickets.
They further added, “Due to ongoing issues with our ticketing provider, Secutix, we feel the fairest thing for us to do is to temporarily pause sales and freeze all ticket prices until these are resolved.”
“We plan to be back on sale at 11:30am tomorrow.”
The statement concluded by stating, “Please watch our social channels and keep an eye on your e-mails for our most up-to-date timings. Again, we sincerely apologize for the frustrating experience many of you have had today and thank you for your support throughout this time.”

With all of this piling up, it was specifically the ticketing prices that did not go down well with people. Subsequently, many fans lashed out at the venue for obscene ticket prices and a lack of empathy amidst such tough times.
