Popular for his late braking and killer instincts on track, Daniel Ricciardo has always been a force to reckon with. But the man from Land Down Under, who has one of the most contagious smiles in F1, has an aura that’s different from the rest of the pack. Fearsome on the track on his peak, and awesome off the track, the former McLaren driver is surely one to remember. The funny man that he is, on one such occasion, showed the world and Ted Kravitz his humor.
In a video from Out of Context F1 YouTube channel, Ricciardo was seen getting his neck measured by Kravitz, the voice of F1. The commentator measured the Australian’s neck and went on to note down the inches. “Only 16 and a half, ” Kravitz said. Ricciardo replied, “Really? Your neck’s fatter than mine?”

“Yeah, my neck’s fatter than yours,” further said the F1 commentator, to which the F1 driver replied, “Why I said fatter? So I gotta do more weight and you got to eat less burgers.” This meant, despite being an F1 driver, who needs neck muscles to withstand the g forces, his neck was slimmer than the commentator’s, which is not very usual. However, the conversation didn’t end there.
As the video continued, the Red Bull driver then said, “Get the other measurements,” to which Kravitz replied, “I knew you’d go there.”

The Honey Badger said, “There was a couple of times where [Ferrari] was linked. But, I think coming back to a seat next year as Guenther [Steiner, Haas Team Principal] said, he reached out and stuff.”
“The more… days that passed and, especially as I did the triple-header to get back into the second half of the season – so three days on the bounce – it became more and more clear that it wasn’t about what phone call I was receiving; it was about me acknowledging that I just ultimately don’t want to be competing next year,” concluded the former McLaren driver.
