The beginning of the 2023 season campaign for Fernando Alonso and Aston Martin delighted the old fans and new. Whilst the first half instilled hope in Nando fans for the 33rd win, he just had to curb his appetite at 8 podiums. During the launch of their 2024 challenger, when asked if there would be a consistent fight for race wins and podium, Fernando responded in the affirmative.

He said, “I hope so. I think it’s going to be a very very tight field and very expensive this time to make a difference. I think we have McLaren, we have Ferrari, we have Red Bull, and Mercedes, which within two or three tenths you can be fighting for the podium or out of the top 10.”

“So I think, to be into that fight is going to be very demanding for any team including us. But yeah, we want to be regular in the points. We want to be fighting for podiums as we did last year with eight podiums and I would love to have the first win for Aston Martin, the first win in green. It will be special and I hope I can be behind that wheel.“
