How do you scare a two-meter-tall NBA player? With a quick lap in a Mclaren with Lando Norris, that’s how! Miami Heat sharpshooter Jimmy Butler went on a joyride with Norris back in 2019. And Lando might be the reason the NBA star never returns to the track.

Jimmy Butler appeared at the Canadian Grand Prix as a guest of honor. And with a guest of honor privilege, he went on a ride with Lando. Audibly apprehensive about the idea, Butler prayed before getting into the car with Norris.

But that was hardly enough to slow the Brit down. Before the start of the lap, Butler requested the Mclaren man to not drive too fast. Which quickly converted to “oh h*ll naw, you drivin driven!

Apart from the laps with Butler, Lando did not enjoy the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The Brit did not finish the race with a problem in his rear suspension. Lando’s Mclaren caught fire at the right rear and the suspension melted. This effectively ended his race.

Lando’s debut season might have not gone according to plan. But the Brit has since finished on the podium on six occasions in his career so far. With the latest coming in the current season at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. A feat he repeated from last season’s race at Imola as he finished P3 on both occasions.
