The race which took place at the glorious Watkins Glen International circuit was an exciting one. The 2007 F1 Champion started strongly but did not get the result he was expecting. Kimi‘s race ended prematurely when he was slammed into the right-side barriers while passing through the bus stop.

In his post-race interview, the driver said“The first impact, somebody hit the tire or the wheel directly and the (steering) wheel spun. There is something wrong with the wrist, but that’s how it goes.”

Nevertheless, the former Ferrari driver cherished the opportunity given to him and hopes to see more European drivers in NASCAR.

He shared a heartfelt post on his Instagram thanking the NASCAR community Justin Marks and the team Trackhouse Racing for such a warm welcome.

The Finn wrote, “Very big thank you to the Nascar community for a warm welcome and great atmosphere. Special thank you to @realmarksjustin @teamtrackhouseand @th_project91 and all the sponsors. Hope to do some real racing in Nascar again!”
