Watching live sports from the comfort of your home is tied up with the fact that you get to watch your favorite sport as well as get top-notch analysis and commentary. That’s why we often see sports presenters and broadcasters being hailed as much as we see athletes.

It’s no secret that when it comes to commentating on and presenting racing events, the best men and women have always been the ones who have previously been behind the steering wheel. However, at the Mexican Grand Prix, Danica Patrick proved us wrong.

Danica Patrick was at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to cover the 2022 Mexican Grand Prix under the auspices of Sky Sports. However, her presentation and commentary did not go down too well with the fans.

Fans beg Danica Patrick and Sky Sports F1 to cut ties for good after Mexican GP embarrassment

F1 fans weren’t too kind to the ex-NASCAR star. Fans quickly stormed Twitter to share their reactions to Patrick’s appearance on the British broadcaster’s F1 channel. Let’s take a look at a few fan reactions to the event.

Danica Patrick is arguably one of motorsports’ most polarizing figures. Her NASCAR and IndyCar careers haven’t been the best. However, time and again during her racing career, she’s shown glimpses of her talent and potential. That being said, fans don’t think her talents lie in F1 punditry.

Most of the fan’s animosity towards the American probably stems from her not having an F1 background. However, fans were mainly concerned about Patrick not showcasing enough knowledge to be saying the things she did on air.

The Mexican Grand Prix wasn’t the best we’ve seen in 2o22. Max Verstappen, however, clinched a 14th-season victory that made him beat Schumacher and Vettel‘s record for most wins in a season (13). That being said, Patrick’s involvement in a race that is already disliked by fans, did not help her case.
