Starting at the middle of the grid after qualifying from P11, the Australian driver had a good run on Sunday and finished at P7. After a fantastic Mexican Grand Prix, Daniel Ricciardo found himself some time to relax, but the McLaren driver couldn’t keep his nerves in control after watching the deadly move by a NASCAR driver.

Ricciardo is one of those drivers who, apart from racing in Formula 1 take an interest in other sports as well. This morning fans witnessed a video game move from Ross Chastain. The trackhouse racing Chevrolet driver showed some sheer skills at Martinsville race Cup series final one in the round of 8.

His incredible move at final lap where he floored the car around the short track paid off and has placed him at the last championship 4 spot, where he will be racing alongside winner Christopher Bell, Joey Logano and Chase Elliott at phoenix raceway next weekend. Chastain describes the awesome move to steal the win, he told NBC Sports after the race, “Oh, played a lot of NASCAR 2005 on the GameCube with (my brother) Chad growing up, and you can get away with it.”

The driving move is being appreciated and Daniel Ricciardo is also seen to enjoy the extraordinary stuff by the Chevrolet driver. Ricciardo posted an Instagram story this morning where he wrote, “Straight up hero sh*t.”

Ricciardo and his love for NASCAR is not new. Time and again he is found talking about the sport and telling how big he is a fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. The Honey Badger received his reward, which was to be paid by Zak Brown as the bet results.

Post joining Mclaren services, the Honey Badger made a bet with Zak Brown that he will win the team a podium, which he did after winning at Italian Grand Prix. According to the Bet Brown will reward the Australian driver with a test run of his favourite NASCAR driver’s car as the Mclaren Boss owns an extensive car collection.

Daniel Ricciardo drove the blue-and-yellow wrangler-backed car at the Circuit of The Americas on Saturday after US GP. He was delighted when he got to drive the car as previously he spoke about how big an admirer he is of the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.

“The noise, smashing gears, the driving position – everything’s quite unique,” he said. “And it’s Dale’s car  one of my all-time heroes, so that was surreal. And I think to do it here as well if we had rented a private track somewhere in England, I don’t know, it wouldn’t have had the same effect. So I’m really grateful that Zak flew it out here.”

After the trial run NASCAR racer Dale Earnhardt Jr. appreciated the Australian which made Ricciardo overwhelmed he said, “Honestly, if we’d been in a private setting and [Junior] told me that one-on-one, I think I’d probably have cried a little bit,” he said.
