Last weekend, the roar of engines at the Atlanta Motor Speedway was deafening. Kyle Busch took the checkered flag in the truck series, while Christopher Bell led Toyota to its first victory in Atlanta since Rowdy in 2013. Motorsports always had that allure that had captured the hearts and minds of fans around the world, they reel us in, which very few sports can do. And they aren’t just dipping their toe in the water, just to make a quick buck, they are diving in head-first, with plans to change the world of motorsports. Plans for World Domination and the Future of Racing
TWS Global, the investment giant with over $7 Billion in its pockets, has officially launched its new division, TWG Motorsports. This division aims to build a portfolio consisting of top-tier racing organizations, with their aim being world domination in the world of motorsports. One of the key pieces in their grand plan of world domination is Spire Motorsports, a NASCAR team with very close ties to Rick Hendrick. This elevates the position of Spire’s position in the world of NASCAR with now links to such a powerful organization.
“With a combination of operational excellence, technology, and innovation, TWG Motorsports has the opportunity to drive true transformation in racing, set new standards for the industry, and build a legacy of success across the globe,” said Dan Towriss, the CEO of TWG Motorsports.
TWG’s racing division is building up an impressive lineup, headlining the group is the new Cadillac Formula 1 Team. Yes! Cadillac is going to Formula 1, with plans to debut in 2026. TWG’s portfolio also includes Andretti Global – competing in IndyCar, IndyNXT, and Formula E, Wayne Taylor Racing in IMSA, and Walkinshaw Andretti United from the Australian Supercars series. This signals TWG’s commitment to compete at the highest level of the sport.
TWG Global, which owns the Dodgers and Chelsea and has a stake in the Lakers (among other things) has officially formed a motorsports division (TWG Motorsports). TWG’s portfolio includes ownership of NASCAR’s Spire Motorsports, the new Cadillac F1 team and Andretti Global.

TWG’s involvement will also have a major impact on the future of Rick Hendrick’s Partner – Spire Motorsports. Often termed as the ‘mini-Hendrick’ team, they have shown some flashes of brilliance but are still the underdogs of NASCAR. How will this deal impact their position in the NASCAR ecosystem?
Leaving the Nest: Spire’s Independence and the Hendrick Alliance
This partnership with TWG and Andretti can be a game-changer for Spire Motorsports. Access to IndyCar and Formula 1 technology, along with the deep pockets, can help Spire accelerate their development and compete at the front of the pack. This acquisition might lead to Spire losing their ‘mini-Hendrick’ tag but that does not mean a complete severing of ties between the two teams. This could decrease their dependence on Hendrick Motorsports and lead to a shift in the dynamic that the two teams currently share.

This shift will also affect other Chevvy teams that also rely on Hendrick for support, but the change in this relationship can create a vacuum that can lead other teams to search for new partnerships and better deals. This can also allow Spire to partner with other teams and become what Hendrick Motorsports was for them, thus further solidifying them in the NASCAR world as a big player. Not to forget there have been rumors about a 4th OEM partner joining NASCAR, could this move be a part of the bigger plan, who knows?
At the end of the day, this is about Spire finding its own identity. This acquisition from TWG can help them lose the ‘mini-Hendrick’ label and make their own way in the world of motorsports. With the backing of TWG Motorsports and its global portfolio, Spire and Jeff Dickerson have the opportunity to become a major player. The possibilities are endless for Spire Motorsports and the whole world is watching.
