Fans were quick to jump to Ricciardo’s defense.
lando norris' friends laughing and talking trash about a man who has literally said his mental health has been very affected by all that's happened?
i guess mental health and mind only apply when it's about the sponsored partnership, huh? https://t.co/J4BnLEotca

The content made by @TwommoF1 and @TheLastLapShow is garbage. I don't know what you spect from them. They are targeting the alpha Bros, chads, etc. that follow F1. Gatekeeping the fans is bad, but content creation is another thing, this ignoramuses shouldn't be listen to.

Things got heated as fans pounced on the Briton and criticized him for being associated with the members of the podcast. Recently, Norris also came under fire from Formula 1 fans for proclaiming that has “no sympathy” for Ricciardo in the aftermath of McLaren axing the Australian.
Every single thing even remotely related to L*ndo makes him so unlikeable to me
— J (@dumbassf1fan) August 28, 2022
Oh didn’t you hear, no other driver ever except their bestie L*ndo is allowed to suffer from mental health issues, he’s the only one.

However, some fans leaped to the Briton’s defense. According to them, Norris was not to blame for this, as he was not present when these comments were made.
Fans tried to dissuade others from clubbing Norris into the discussion on the sole fact that he was associated or friendly with the hosts of the podcast.
I understand the message but how can u link lando to this when he is literally not involved in this podcast?

DR fans obsessed with Lando to the point of trying to pin other people's opinions on him now? Jesus Christ, you're really at a low now.
— Bea (@beabadooboop) August 28, 2022
Yeah not cool what was said but why is the fact that they're or some of them are friends of Lando so important??

This has nothing to do with lando my god stop talking about bad stuff, this is really insane. Get a live

However, the person who originally shared the tweet in the first place was quick to contextualize the whole tweet. He explained why Norris was liable to be criticized in this entire matter, even though he was not explicitly a part of the video.
did I say lando said this? no. i said lando norris' friends. it's very concerning to me he hangs out with this kind of people but I never said HE said them, so don't put words in my mouth
