F1 British GP 2024: What is the Weather Forecast for Silverstone?

The Silverstone race will be the halfway point of the season, being round 12 of 24. Friday, July 5: FP1 and FP2

We have a normal Grand Prix format happening in the UK and the first day will be the practice sessions. During these sessions, there are chances of drizzling, as the report says  there is a 13% chance for precipitation. Although there will be drizzles during the FP1, by the time the drivers get back in their cars again, the skies are reported to clear up.

As it will be raining during the day, the track will remain cool, with the maximum temperature expected on day 1 being 18 °C and the lowest being 10 °C. The winds will stay on for the whole day as the rains will make the track cooler.

Saturday, July 6: FP3 and Qualifying

For day 2, drivers will be getting on the tracks to face rain again during the FP3 and qualifiers. According to the reports, there will be a 37% chance of rain during FP3, with it going up to 44% during the qualifiers. The maximum temperature around the circuit will be 18 °C, and it will be a humid session due to the rains.

So far, we have seen multiple pole sitters this season with Lando Norris, George Russell, Charles Leclerc, and Max Verstappen all taking the front seat during the GP format. Considering that, while factoring in the rain, it is expected to get quite interesting during the Austria qualifiers.

Sunday, July 7: Race day

Finally, on race day, there will be a slight chance of light showers and a moderate breeze as the drivers take to the track to see who is the fastest in the UK. The highest chances of rain will be noticed on this day, with a 42% chance that there will be light showers. Sunday will record the highest temperature of the weekend, with the highest being 19°C and the lowest dropping to 9°C.

Besides the rain, the race day will be quite humid, with 51% humidity and a moderate breeze coming in from the west. If you will be at the tracks, an umbrella will be good to have, and if you are at home, bring some popcorn, as the race will get interesting on the wet tarmac.
