The two crossed paths at Seaspice Brasserie in Miami, where the Dutchman was celebrating his title win over F1 ace Lewis Hamilton. Meanwhile, the Mexican star was in Florida to support his sparring partner in a heavyweight fight.

However, 2021 was a far less disputed year of the Mexican Boxing star. Alvarez became the undisputed super-middleweight king after he beat Callum Smith, Avni Yildirim, Billy Joe Saunders, and Caleb Plant in the space of 11 months.
After a brilliant 2021 season, Verstappen, 24, and Alvarez. 31, were both nominated for the BBC’s World Sport Star award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards ceremony.

Big statement from Verstappen
It was not an easy season for Verstappen. He was competing against Lewis Hamilton who is arguably the best driver this sport has seen.
The Red Bull prodigy recently admitted that he won’t be able to carry on in the sport for much longer with this level of intensity.
“It doesn’t have to be like this every year for me. I don’t think you can hold out in F1 that long, I’m happy with the way the game went, but I think it was a great season,” he told CarNext as reported by Mirror.
“Of course, a lot of unpredictable things happened, the two teams are fighting against each other, which is always more exciting than when only one team dominates and basically only the two teammates fight.”
“It’s incredible. But also with all the emotions that were there all year round–going really well, then bad luck, all the things happen that made it so much more intense. It was so much. They want to win this last race and win the championship and that’s all come together.”
