The Denver Nuggets were crowned NBA champions for the first time in the franchise’s history. This was mainly because of the efforts of one man, Nikola Jokic. While Jamal Murray might have played a huge role as well alongside his teammates it is undoubtedly the Joker who carried them to the promise land.
Now winning his first-ever championship and with 2 league MVPs to his name, Jokic is already a top center. With his accolades speaking for himself and the likes of Shaq welcoming the 7 feet into the ‘Big man alliance’. The Serbian is truly one of the best to ever do it.

While Shaquille O’Neal is undoubtedly the best center to ever do it with an exception for Wilt. One can’t help but ask where does Jokic lie in that list? YouTuber Jacques Slade gave his opinion on it when he spoke on the topic on his podcast. He believes Jokic is still not at the levels of Shaq, Hakeem, and Wilt with the Serbian needing to “collect more hardware.”
Continuing to speak on centers he believes Shaq wouldn’t take it kindly when compared to Jokic. Giving an example of Dwight Howard who’s currently playing in Taiwan, Jacques believes Dwight is cursed because of his reference to himself to himself as “Superman“. A name synonymous with Shaq the YouTuber stated “Poor Dwight Howard never recovered for borrowing Superman“. Referring to the time when Dwight was still killing it for the Orlando Magic.
Slade also makes valid arguments in his video. He points out that Shaq doesn’t take his comparison with Jokic lightly. Although this time around Shaq might find it credible to be linked with a player like Jokic.

Shaquille O’Neal continues to be critical of Dwight
Dwight Howard made the bold choice of switching from the NBA to the T1 league in Taiwan. Representing the Taoyuan Leopards, Dwight actually had an impressive start scoring 38 points, 25 rebounds, and 9 assists on his debut. Regardless of his performance, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal continues to criticize the eight-time all-star.
After winning his debut Dwight and the Leopards went on a 10-game losing streak which cause Shaq to pass this remark “They have a losing record. Somebody sent me that they have a losing record. I am not losing to anybody in Taiwan, I’ll tell you that.” Ouch.
