The sport made a bad choice today: Lewis Hamilton

Belgian Grand Prix has created a big controversy in motorsport for the way it happened. Many, including Lewis Hamilton, have been critical of the race director and Stewarts on how it was managed. Hamilton blatantly stated that the two laps of the race took place because of the money factor in the sport.

“We should have called it quits, not risked drivers and, most importantly, refunded fans who are the heart of our sport,” said Lewis.

“We were all aiming for a window that we thought was there. There was a weather band where we thought we could get some racing in. But you have all seen how rapidly the weather changes at this venue and the weather deteriorated so rapidly that we couldn’t.” said Masi.

FIA awarded half points to the team and drivers, which meant that Verstappen closed the gap to Hamilton. Hamilton now leads the championship by just three points ahead of the Dutch GP.
