Hulk Hogan contributed in a major way to the growth of the pro wrestling industry. His run as the all-conquering baby face with WWE in the 1980s helped to usher the Golden Era of wrestling.

Over a decade later, he yet again changed the face of the industry, this time as the cool bad guy Hollywood Hogan in WCW. During both these times, Hogan’s enduring popularity contributed to the success of the wrestling business.

One of the reasons for his mainstream appeal was his impressive physique. Hogan took pride in being really well built and takes great care to maintain his muscular appearance to this day.

Hogan achieved a lot in wrestling due to his splendid physique and charisma while other wrestlers made their reputation by pushing themselves to the extreme in the ring, despite not having the body akin to a bodybuilder.

Mick Foley was one of those wrestlers who made a name for himself by putting his body on the line, but his physical appearance wasn’t that of a well-chiseled wrestler.

In 2003, Hogan mentioned how he stayed fit and healthy by working out regularly and also took shots at Foley’s eating habits.

Hulk Hogan criticized Foley for his eating habits

Both Hulk Hogan and Mick Foley entertained the fans in their own unique ways. Both are part of two of the most iconic moments in pro wrestling history.

If people fondly recall Hogan slamming Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III, they also talk about Foley falling from the top of the Hell in a Cell at King of the Ring. Right there lay the contrast in their approach towards wrestling.

Hogan’s act was one of power and physical domination, while Foley’s legacy was about going to the limit and beyond to give fans hardcore wrestling moments.

In 2003, on an episode of ‘Off The Record with Michael Landsberg‘, the host asked Hogan how he was still able to stay fit and outlasted Foley, who was not in peak physical health. In reply, Hogan made some disparaging comments about the hardcore legend.

He said, “Everybody has a certain level of respect for themselves. I would probably say I’ve trained more in the last week than Mick Foley has in 30 years. I went ahead, when Mick Foley was sleeping, and eating cheeseburgers and M&Ms, I was in the gym working out.”

Moreover, The Immortal One added that he didn’t put his body in danger like Foley did throughout his career. Hogan’s comments on the former RAW General Manager seem a bit too harsh.

Foley wasn’t perhaps the fittest wrestlers out there. He sure knew how to entertain the fans. During his career, he became famous for some of the extreme and exciting moments in WWE history.

His odd but entertaining tag team with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was a hit among the fans. Together, they formed the Rock and Sock Connection and even won the tag team titles three times.
