Golf is a sport that can never be mastered by anyone. This statement holds so much significance and one can never take it lightly. Even the best among the best suffer embarrassing moments on the golf course and World No. 3, Justin Thomas recently fell victim to it at the Scottish Open 2021. Here’s what happened:

Justin Thomas is one of the big names competing at the Scottish Open 2021. Thomas has been trying hard to get into contention at The Renaissance Club, but his game has been falling short on multiple occasions.

Justin Thomas posted a 65 and 69 in the opening two rounds at Scottish Open 2021. Thomas managed to stay under-par, but could not surge into contention with the leaders. The 28-year-old tried to improve his score on moving day, but a poor driver shot on the par-5 10th cost him dearly.

The 10th hole at The Renaissance Club is a long one stretching 594 yards. So players often use drivers for their second shots as well, and Justin Thomas employed the same method during Round 3 on Saturday. But safe to say that it didn’t go so well.

Thomas failed to strike the ball in the face of the club which resulted in a very poor shot. The ball got no loft and hence, ended up in the left bunker nearby. The 14-time PGA Tour winner also lost his complete balance and ended up flipping the driver out of his hands.

This was Thomas’ second shot in the 10th hole. He ended up bogeying the par-5, which he hadn’t done in the previous two rounds at Scottish Open 2021. JT ended his third round with a 70 and improved his score to 9-under for the tournament.

Justin Thomas brought up his first victory of 2021 at the Players Championship. He secured an unlikely win, as Thomas only made a leaderboard surge late in Round 3. The scenes were emphatic and JT is hungry for win #2 in 2021.

However, a win at Scottish Open 2021 is far-fetched. Justin Thomas stood T17 after three rounds at The Renaissance Club and it is highly unlikely that he’ll reach the top in the final 18-holes.

Nonetheless, there are still a lot of events to go on until the season concludes. Do you think Justin Thomas will win his second trophy of the year before the season wraps up?
