Tagging the 27-year-old tennis star and the apparel major, the fan by the name of Cool! Mike Stricker tweeted that he had always been fascinated by Adidas but was willing to try out New Balance if Bouchard acknowledged his “existence”.

“I’ve been an Adidas guy forever but if @geniebouchard acknowledged my existence I’d give @newbalance a legit shot at it moving forwards,” the fan wrote.
To that, Bouchard replied with, “Ummmm hellloooooo (wave emoji)”.
The former World No. 5, who previously had a sponsorship deal with sportswear giant Nike, switched to a New Balance kit in the Dubai qualifiers for this year’s Australian Open.

Bouchard failed to seal passage to the main draw of the year’s first Grand Slam after losing her third qualifying tie. However, her flagging, stop-start career has seen a resurgence of sorts ever since as she reached the final of the WTA hardcourt event in Guadalajara, Mexico, on the back of some impressive wins.
In sight of her second career Tour title, Bouchard fell in the championship clash to Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo. However, her run to the title round lifted her in the rankings and put her within reach of the Top-100 in singles. The Canadian is currently placed at 120 in singles.
