The question still remains over who will play Kratos in the adaptation. In the games, the character was first played by Terrence Carson till God of War 3. In 2018’s God of War, Christopher Judge took the reins for the character. Judge’s performance as Kratos drew the attention of many critics. Along with critical acclaim, he also won plenty of awards for his performance. Judge wants to play the character in the show as well. Fans seemed to love the work he did on the last two God of War titles. Moreover, because he already lent his voice and took part in motion capture, he seems perfect for the job.
Regardless of the casting choice, the God of War adaptation has big shoes to fill. After HBO’s Last Of Us success, fans know a good adaptation is possible with a rich story. Additionally, given how the last two God of War games played out like movies, fans’ expectations for a cinematic experience are high. Only time will tell where the show goes.
