In a recent report by Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford, it was claimed that obesity is in fact caused by genetics and not due to unhealthy diets, at least in children. However, it was recently seen that Joe Rogan has a different take on the matter, discussing this with Lex Fridman in his recent podcast. Hasan Piker, on the other hand, feels otherwise and seems to disagree with his take.
And with this, it is also to be seen that Hasan has a really brutal take on Joe Rogan, as he almost scolds him for his take on the matter with minimum research.

During his podcast with Lex, Joe Rogan said that he is not fully convinced by the fact that genetics plays any role in obesity, and called the research done by Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford “Bonkers”. Thus, in his reaction to the podcast, Hasan Piker said that genetics is indeed a significant factor in obesity, but that the study they were discussing was one that focused on childhood obesity and showed that promoting better dietary habits and a more active lifestyle did not make a significant enough impact to override the food culture that has been created by the agricultural industry and its lobbyists.
He also pointed out that genetics might not necessarily mean that one is genetically predisposed to obesity, but that there could be a genetic marker that makes it easier for one to become obese due to the current food culture in the United States.
Hasan Piker’s take on the issue is important because it highlights the complexity of the obesity epidemic. While genetics plays a role, it cannot be the sole factor in the increase in obesity rates. The food culture and the food that is readily available play a crucial role in the development of obesity, and changing this culture is necessary to control the problem.

According to Piker, the food culture in the United States has changed dramatically in recent years, with a focus on convenience and taste rather than health and nutrition. Fast-food chains and processed foods have become a staple in the diet, and this has led to an increase in obesity rates. It is not a coincidence that the rise in obesity rates has coincided with the increase in the availability of unhealthy food options.
Hasan Piker explains why Joe Rogan is wrong
One of the major factors that were brought up by Hasan Piker in Joe Rogan’s statement is his talking about obesity in a way that only affects those who don’t go to the gym and work out properly. To which Hasan said, “calm the f**k down, talking sh*t about other people’s bodies.”

Moreover, Hasan Piker’s statement that genetic markers could make it easier for some individuals to become obese due to the current food culture highlights the importance of addressing the root causes of obesity. It is not enough to promote healthier lifestyle choices; the food culture and availability of healthy options must also be addressed.
