Nintendo has been a dominant force in the video game industry for a long time. But the glory started fading away after the rise of home consoles like Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox. However, Nintendo never lost its grip on the platform thanks to its successful handheld consoles like Nintendo DS, Gameboy, and finally, Switch. Recently, the hybrid console even took down the Xbox One sale in the UK.
Nintendo Switch achieves a huge milestone in the UK
Nintendo has always had successful ventures in Japan (the country of its origin) and North America. However, the Japanese giants never had a dominant presence in the United Kingdom. Instead, competitors like Sony and Xbox flew high in the English skies. But it seems the UK is starting to witness many new changes this year, including the rise of Nintendo.
Recently, the game industry expert Christopher Dring tweeted, “Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch has surpassed Xbox One in terms of total sales in the UK. Next, it has PS3 in its sights.” Although he didn’t present any official figures, it is a massive feat for the Japanese giants to reach such height. It would be interesting to see whether they can also take down PlayStation after surpassing Xbox.

But if Nintendo surprises the world with the much-awaited successor to Switch next year, then the Big N might take a massive step toward the throne of the gaming industry.

It is fair that everyone might wonder what helped Nintendo to rise to such heights with Switch. So, the Japanese giants need to thank their game library, which offers many video games to enjoy. Also, when most AAA games on PlayStation and Xbox were getting delayed, Nintendo kept feeding its fans with great content.
