Who is the G.O.A.T? In the world of soccer, this is one of the biggest topics of argument. G.O.A.T simply means “Greatest of All Time”. The prime contenders for this title in the modern era are Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr, and Mbappe. This debate had made this generation of soccer fans divided against each other. And for a long time, there was no resolution for this conflict…

According to KSI, the Messi vs Ronaldo GOAT debate is over

But after the fairytale-like finale of the FIFA World Cup 2022, many have started believing the debate is over for good. This includes YouTube stars KSI and Deji. After the final match between Argentina and France in World cup 2022, KSI tweeted, “Messi has won a World Cup. Ronaldo has never won a World Cup. The debate is over people.” making the bold statement for calling Messi the greatest soccer player after he carried his team to the title.

Even KSI’s brother, Deji, said on Twitter, “Debate over, Messi is the greatest”. Both of the Olatunji brothers made it clear that Lionel Messi is the best in the world. Also stating that there is no more denying or arguments about this. Even the official YouTube account agreed with the brothers as they replied:

What did the fans say?

One would assume that the fans would agree with KSI, however, they still had mixed opinions in the comments. Many loyal supporters of other players, such as Ronaldo and Mbappe, presented some counter arguments. Twitter user Andres Rojas said, “A world cup win doesn’t define the greatness of a player. Cristiano is turning 38 on Feb. I want to see if Messi will keep playing at a high level for the next couple of years. Argentina had an amazing team it revolves around Messi. Portugal should have done the same with Cris.

But there were also many fans who completely agreed with the sentiment and paid their regards to the Magic Man of Argentina.
