In May 2022, EA Sports confirmed they were splitting up with FIFA over the game they make. This news was followed by chaos among the fans about the future of the series. While EA Sports has officially stopped making games containing FIFA in their title, there is still a FIFA game coming. The current FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, announced that a new FIFA game will be coming, which will go head-to-head with EA Sports FC 24.
