In the Premier League match against West Ham United, which took place on May 4, Erling Braut Haaland, the Norwegian star, continued his stupendous form as he added another goal to his record-breaking tally. During a post-match interview, a reporter asked Haaland what he planned to do after returning home. Haaland responded by stating, “I will go home now, play some video games, eat something, and then sleep. That’s what I’m going to do.”
Intrigued by his response, the reporter further inquired about the specific video games Haaland enjoys playing. Initially hesitant and slightly embarrassed, the 22-year-old footballer confessed, “I cannot say. It’s too embarrassing.” However, to the surprise of his fans, Haaland eventually revealed on Instagram that his favorite game is none other than the widely popular Minecraft.
After this reveal many people were sightly upset with Haaland as they think there is nothing to be embarrassed about playing Minecraft. But taking the fact that Minecraft is widely played by the teenage demographic, being a 22-year-old athlete and admitting an obsession with this game could seem a lit bit odd, maybe that is why he refrained from answering the question then.

Erling Haaland has been on a great run even before joining Manchester City. However, after joining the reigning Premier League champions, the Norwegian has taken the ‘toughest league in the world’ by storm. For nearly 30 years, the record stood at 34 goals, which were created by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer in the 1993/94 and 1994/95 seasons, respectively. However, the main thing to be noted here is that it was a 42-game season back then.
Keeping that in mind, Haaland not only broke the record of Mohamed Salah’s 32 goals during the 38-game season in 2017/18 but also shattered the long-held record by Cole and Shearer with five games to spare. On top of that, he has added more and currently stands with 36 goals to his name. With three more fixtures left for City to play, the 22-year-old can make the mark untouchable.
